This weekends open house activity (3/10/19) was reflective of the current DC/NoVa market place- a very strong Seller’s market.  An old fashioned yet generally reliable way of determining the activity in the market place is how busy the weekend open houses are attended.  Open House count for my listings so far this month:

Bankfoot, Herndon $799,500- 25 groups through on 3/10 and 50 groups through on 3/3

Spyglass Cove, Reston $1,397,500- 10 groups through 3/10 and 9 groups 3/3

Jay Avenue, Alexandria $417,000- 17 groups and 1 agent  on 3/10

Presidents Cup, Ashburn $499,500- 14 groups and 1 agent on 3/3 and 11 groups on a Saturday 3/2

The number of agent showings has also dramatically increased since the fall.  Bankfoot has had 40 private agent showings in the 2 weeks its been on the market, Jay Ave 20 since going live on 3/7 and Presidents Cup 17 agent showings in the 17 or so days that it has been live.  I’m hearing similar activity for my coworkers w/ listings in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties.  Listings closer towards the city in Falls Church or Arlington are seeing even higher numbers of traffic and if a property is priced well enough multiple offers received first weekend on the market especially in 1st time buyer price ranges.  Lets see how long this early spring market continues for 2019!
